...but life goes on :)

So we had a disappointing result in the rugby, but c'est la vie as they say in France (my new preferred World Cup winners).

We had planned to stay in Cardiff, but even in March when we bought our tickets the accommodation was booked out. Instead we stayed in Bath, at the Garden House, a very nice B&B up the hill in Bath. We arrived in quite late, and they were good enough to stay up to help us with directions (essential since there really wasn't any sign-posting). Unlike most B&Bs the breakfast was yummy freshly baked bread and jam, plus a mixture of healthy (and unhealthy) cereals - a refreshing change from the usual heart-stopping mix of fried food. They were really friendly, too, and we highly recommend you check them out if you're a couple or foursome looking for somewhere to stay.

We spent the day wandering around Bath, including a stop-off in the Baths themselves. We even headed up to the Royal Circle, where Nicholas Cage has apparently just bought and Johnny Depp is looking to buy. The highlight was by far wandering along the river and canals - we even saw a lock being used which delighted the engineer inside us all. It was a glorious day, and meant that the general mood of the weekend was very much improved!
