Celebrity sighting - Phil Kearns

I've so far been able to spend my time in Sydney without seeing any famous sportspeople, but today we were on the bus with Phil Kearns, former Wallaby. Actually, it is more likely that I've seen multiple famous sportspeople, but not recognised them – Sarah had to point Phil out to me.

Nobody was sitting next to him, but that could have been because (even though he was very politely trying to take up as little space as possible) there really wasn't room. I've never felt more reluctant to take up rugby than right now :)

(ok, so its been a slow news month)

The Singletons celebrate 25 years in Australia

On Saturday the Singleton family (good friends of ours) celebrated 25 years since they came to Australia from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. It was a great getaway (down to a little town called Bungendore, about 30 minutes north-east of Canberra) and, as you will see from the pictures, everyone was feeling patriotic!

Joel, Simon and Rick dressed as if they'd arrived 225 years ago

Matt (a third child) was Peter Costello's poster child (although this technically makes his parents the patriots)

Lou is prepared to be shot out of a cannon for her country...either that, or we have a new crime-fighting heroine

Ski trip to Perisher

Last weekend we headed down to Perisher with Jess and Pete. The snow wasn't great, but was better than we'd been led to believe, and the weather was perfect -- blue skies both days.

Stephen, Jess and Pete on the Chairlift (note the Crazy Hair - an unfortunate side-effect of not even needing a beanie!)

New Zealand

So we've just arrived home from a fantastic trip to New Zealand with the McKinlay family (hi Jessie, Malcolm, Hamish, Blair, Erin and Robina). This seemed like as good a time as any to launch our blog, complete with photos from the trip.

Enjoy!
