Stephen's Birthday

It was Stephen's birthday a couple of weeks ago, and to celebrate we hit the town with some workmates and friends. Since it was Australia Day, we had planned to go to the Walkabout (as a one-off, honestly) but by the time we arrived at 5 o'clock a drunken line stretched around the corner. Given that we weren't drunk, and had forgotten to dress entirely in the Australian flag, we chose the English pub next door.

After a couple of quiet ales we headed up to our restaurant of choice (Patara Thai, on Greek St) for fantastic food in a lovely setting. Thankfully, nobody sang 'Happy Birthday', and we only ran about half an hour overtime (keeping someone else waiting for their table) - we were having too much fun.

We finished the night back at the pub for a quiet nightcap or two, noting as we the Aussie queue was still around the corner - crazy Aussies... In fact, when we were out shopping for Stephen's birthday present the next day we say people still dressed in their Aussie gear!

Outside the pub (freezing cold, but happy)
