Athens

This week I had the opportunity to go to Athens for 3 days for a workshop.

After arriving into the 40C heat I was quickly reminded of Sydney summers and appreciated air conditioning once more! Although working during the daytime, the first evening we ate dinner at a restaurant in Plaka....dolmades, tsatsiki, spinach and fetta pies and yummy seafood whilst sitting just below the Acropolis.

The second evening a few of us caught a taxi straight up to the Acropolis. The white marble against the blue sky and Athens skyline was most impressive and has only made me even more determined to return for a longer visit to explore Greece. We returned to the hotel for a workshop dinner which was most spectacular - the location was on the rooftop of the hotel we were staying (the Intercontinental) and had very impressive views of the Acropolis (which was all lit up). I would definitely recommend checking out this restaurant/bar (even if just for a drink one evening) simply for the stunning view!

Soon enough Friday afternoon arrived, and after a quick spot of shopping (in Plaka) it was time to head back to London.....although short, a most enjoyable introduction to Greece!
