Jack the Ripper tour (with Claudia and Greg)

Claudia and Greg arrived bright and early on Saturday morning, fresh from Singapore. After a traditional English breakfast (and braving some traditional English rain) we headed out to the East End to follow in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper.

Claudia has been teaching her class about Jack, and was able to fill us in on all the gory detail as we trekked around (we followed the route here)

For me the great thing about doing the tour was the opportunity to see some of East London, where I'd not really visited before...the tour passes Spitalfields market (unfortunately closed when we went past) and ends very close to Brick Lane (home of some great (and occasionally not so great - see Sarah's earlier post) Indian). In this case we managed to pick a great one - The Shampan, somewhere in the middle.

We finished the afternoon with a pint of ale at the Ten Bells, where Jack the Ripper's victims once drank, before ambling home for an early night - we had a big day planned the next day...
